FAQ

What size do I need?

The measurement of the space between your watch lugs (in millimeters) is the watch band size you will need. Your current strap may have the size noted on the backside (for example "20" would mean it's a 20mm strap).

For length, we recommend measuring your wrist or your existing strap (not metal bands), and use our size guide to determine the best length for you.

Where are your watch bands made?

We are proud to offer some of the finest watch bands available. We are authorized distributors for our manufacturers and we examine every piece to ensure its quality standards.

As a retailer, we work with select companies that use the best leathers and the highest standards in production. These brands include Hirsch (Austria), Rios (Germany) and our own Strapped For Time collection (made in France and Italy).

What is a deployant clasp?

A deployant/deployment clasp replaces a standard buckle and helps extend the life of your watch band. Our push button clasps are made of 316L stainless steel and are individually quality checked to ensure proper connection points.

These clasps are keepers! Use over time with different straps by ordering a strap with the same taper (lug width x buckle width) as your last one.

If added to your order, we will attach it to your strap before shipping.

What's the difference between the deployant clasps you offer? Are they worth it?

Well, there's a few differences, and yes!

A deployant clasp instead of a standard buckle will extend the life of your watch band. You set the strap in the clasp to your desired adjustment hole and keep it there, eliminating that pull on the buckle each time. Plus, a clasp can be used on multiple straps and it's pretty easy to do; it attaches with a spring pin like your strap does to your watch.

Our favorite and best selling clasp is our own Push Button Deployant Clasp. This is what's known as a double fold or butterfly style and is available with most all of our watch bands as an add on option. These are selectively sourced, beautifully finished, heavyweight 316L stainless steel clasps made right. We check each one prior to shipping to ensure proper working condition and attach it to your strap so it's ready to wear.

We also offer the Hirsch Single Fold Deployant Clasp; a high quality clasp made with heavyweight 316L stainless steel and finished with the signature Hirsch "H" logo. It's a pressure held clasp that has only one folding point and "snaps" into place. To unlock, pull firmly from connection point. This clasp is only offered in select sizes so it is only available through the product page. To order with your strap, select the buckle size of the strap for your clasp size and we will attach it for you.
These can sometimes be a little loose, we strive to check each one prior to shipping, however if you do receive one that does not connect tightly, please contact us immediately for a replacement.

Lastly, we offer the Hirsch Pusher Deployant Clasp.

Do you make custom straps?

Yes we do! We work with a few different strap makers around the world to source special styles, colors and lengths. Please contact us for more information on custom straps.

How do I put a watch strap on my watch?

The strap goes onto your watch lugs using a spring pin, also known as a spring bar, that slides into the hole on the end of each strap piece.

Set one side of the spring pin into the hole on the inside of your lug, and slide the other side in up to the lug. Use a sping pin tool or something similar to compress the pin and slide it into the hole of the lug. Test by pulling on the strap a bit and wiggling it to ensure the pin is in place on both sides.
Shop our Spring Pin Tools

Most of our straps come with pins already set in the strap when it's made, allowing for a quick and easy attachment. Straps that do not have "quick release" pins come with a set of standard spring pins (1.78mm thick, double flange... for the nerds).

What is your return policy?

We know it can be tricky to find the strap that's "just right" for you and your watch. That's why we offer free shipping on returns and exchanges for up to 60 days. Just request the return through the system or contact us and we'll email you a prepaid return label.

We're happy to answer any questions or help you find a different item; for assistance call 704-884-1328 or email us at orders@strappedfortime.com.

Where are you located?

We are located in Monroe, North Carolina, just outside of Charlotte. We do not have a retail location, but we're happy to help over the phone or by email with any questions you have.

Can I send you my watch to attach the new strap?

Unfortunately we are not set up at this time to accept customer watches for repair or watch band attachment. It's fairly easy to do yourself with a spring pin tool, or you can take it to your local jeweler and they can attach it for you.

Are you the manufacturer of your watch bands?

No, we are not a manufacturer. We are a small retail business offering a variety of watch bands from a select group of manufacturers we have known and worked with for over 20 years.

Do you keep your straps in stock? Are they ready to ship?

We do! Orders typically ship in 1-2 business days. If for any reason the strap you selected is not in stock, we will notify you immediately with an estimated ship date.

Can I get my strap tomorrow?

Most likely! If you need your order quickly, please contact us to ensure that it will ship when you expect it to. We offer UPS Next Day Air as a shipping service, but we do have an order processing time, so check in with us if you need your order right away and we'll do everything we can to accomodate.

Do you have a warranty?

Yes! All products are warrantied for 1 year. Just give us a call or email us and we'll send a replacement with a return label for the defective strap.
