Ready for a new watch band but not sure how to change it out? Not to worry, there are a few tools available to help.
First you will need to know what size band your watch takes. This is the width of the band at the lug end where it connects to the watch. Measuring Calipers will help you get the correct measurement; all bands are measured in millimeters which can be hard to determine with a standard ruler. Calipers have an extended adjustable piece that allows you to get the inner width of your lug space accurately. (If you do use a standard ruler, please refer to our Measuring Guide for a conversion chart into millimeters)
Once you’ve purchased your watch band in the correct size, you will need the Spring Pin Tool to remove your old band and attach the new one. This tool has a unique flat fork end to fit between the lug and the watch band itself. It grabs the spring pin that is holding the band on and compresses it to allow the band to “pop” off of your watch. Similarly, to attach the new band, use this tool to push the pin down enough to slide into your lug space and “pop” into place, fixing your new watch band onto your watch. This is a great all around tool to have. The attachments include a larger fork end, a small fork end and a push pin. Our Spring Pin Tool is a deluxe version with solid construction and heavy-weight end pieces that will not bend or break, making it a handy tool to use for years to come.
